Firmware Engineering Manager (Embedded)

Salary: $136,100–$201,100 per year

What you will do

• Mentor engineers and support their career development.
• Manage engineering metrics, hiring activities, supervision, and team planning.
• Gather requirements, create project plans, and execute work against schedules.
• Lead the design and documentation of safety-critical firmware systems.
• Create and manage technical backlogs and break work into team tasks.
• Coordinate across disciplines and communicate with leadership, program managers, and direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of embedded or firmware development experience.
• Experience with C, C++, object-oriented design, unit testing, debugging, and RTOS.
• Knowledge of Agile software development processes and strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git, or ClearCase.
• Test automation and Python development skills.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, three-phase electric power systems, or modern communications protocols.
