Senior Fire Protection Engineer (Mission Critical)

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and coordination of fire protection systems for data centers, server farms, telecommunications hubs, control rooms, and command centers.
• Design and specify clean agent, inert gas, pre-action sprinkler, fire alarm, smoke detection, and emergency life safety systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, risk assessments, system evaluations, and fire suppression effectiveness analyses.
• Develop design criteria, technical specifications, project documentation, and code-compliant solutions.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, architects, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, inspections, construction support, project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and technical presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of professional fire protection engineering experience focused on mission-critical facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 75, NFPA 76, and NFPA 2001, as well as IBC, UL, and local building codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, HydraCAD, hydraulic calculation tools, and BIM for fire protection design.
• Experience with commissioning, testing, inspections, risk assessments, multidisciplinary coordination, and management of complex projects.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or another fire protection certification.
• Experience with FM-200, Novec 1230, inert gas suppression systems, sustainable design, and international fire protection standards.
