VP Accounting Operations & Close

Location: Northfield, Illinois, United States

Salary: $234,000–$351,000 annual, plus bonus and/or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead global close, cost and balance sheet accounting, and revenue recognition/gross-to-net teams across the US, EU, and Pune GCC.
• Set the global close calendar and best practices while reducing close timelines and improving quality and compliance.
• Oversee balance sheet and P&L accounting, reconciliations, accruals, liabilities, inventory, PPE, leases, revenue, reserves, and contract balances.
• Oversee Oracle submissions and the accuracy of ledgers and supplementary information in the consolidation system.
• Strengthen global internal controls, lead remediation initiatives, and support quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors.
• Develop team members, manage budgets and long-term planning, and lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification required.
• At least 12 years of relevant general accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience combining public accounting and industry experience at a public company, including international operations, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
• Broad knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC requirements, with the ability to communicate across global teams.
• Strong leadership, analytical, process management, planning, organizational, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree, such as a Master’s in Accounting.
• Experience in a complex global US publicly traded company with more than $1B in revenue.
• External audit experience with complex global public companies.
• Experience with consolidation and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
