2027 M&A Summer Associate (SF) (Investment Banking)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.

Base salary: $175,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support live M&A transactions alongside experienced banking professionals and analysts.
• Lead multiple workstreams and drive assignments from start to finish.
• Build accurate, client-ready analyses and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Analyze complex data with tools such as Capital IQ and FactSet.
• Translate financial and market analysis into deal strategy and client recommendations.
• Communicate with deal teams, senior bankers, clients, and C-suite stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• Recent university or college graduate with little or no professional experience and relevant skills.
• Working knowledge of income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, data validation, tables, and conditional formatting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, data analysis, ownership, and attention to detail.
• Ability to use and direct AI tools while retaining responsibility for quality, accuracy, and judgment.

Nice to have

• Prior relevant work experience.
• Experience with valuation, financial modeling, Capital IQ, or FactSet.
