TL;DR
Senior Contract Specialist (DoD): Supporting traditional and non-traditional financial, contractual, and technical aspects of Department of Defense acquisition programs with an accent on federal contracting, acquisition strategy, and price analysis. Focus on preparing solicitations and contract documentation, applying FAR/DFARS/SOFARS requirements, and determining fair and reasonable prices with DCAA and DCMA support.
Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; on-site at MacDill AFB

What you will do
- Support financial, contractual, and technical aspects of DoD projects through the acquisition cycle.
- Plan acquisition and contracting strategies within cost, schedule, and performance baselines.
- Prepare pre-solicitation documents, solicitations, amendments, awards, and post-award contract modifications.
- Conduct price and cost analysis, working with DCAA and DCMA to determine fair and reasonable prices.
- Review evaluation input and prepare negotiation positions, including PNM and BCM documentation.
- Perform contract administration, maintain auditable contract files, and advise IPTs, program personnel, suppliers, and contractors.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- DAWIA Practitioner Level II Equivalency in Contracting.
- At least 10 years of experience working in federal government acquisition programs, including at least 8 years in acquisition or contracting.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition laws, regulations, and procedures, including FAR, DFARS, and SOFARS.
- Experience with contract data reporting tools, contract procedures, and traditional and rapid-innovation acquisition strategies.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in business or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years of acquisition or contracting experience, including at least 1 year supporting USSOCOM.
