Manager, Software Localization Engineering (AI)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid model. The role requires flexibility to collaborate across time zones.

What you will do

• Lead a functional team of localization engineers, including goal setting, performance management, and professional growth.
• Set the strategic direction for localization engineering and improve operating procedures.
• Build and improve continuous localization infrastructure and services for software and documentation.
• Architect localization workflows that combine Translation Management Systems, Neural Machine Translation, and LLM-based frameworks.
• Direct the development of scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, integrations, and CI/CD workflows.
• Partner with Localization QA, Project Management, product engineering, and internationalization stakeholders to improve automation, validation, quality, and delivery metrics.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in technical localization management and 3 years of people management.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience leading engineering teams, setting goals, and overseeing technical projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML technologies applied to developer tools or localization workflows.
• Solid experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages; TMS tools, workflows, and metrics; and Neural Machine Translation.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, JIRA, Confluence, and automated localization testing frameworks such as Robot Framework and Playwright.
