Senior Engineering Technologist (Distribution Utility Engineering): Providing technical expertise for complex utility engineering problems, studies, planning, scheduling, reporting, and distribution design with an accent on independent technical work and field coordination. Focus on analyzing engineering issues, preparing technical documentation and calculations, coordinating work activities, and supporting distribution utility operations.
Location: Hybrid in Matthews, North Carolina; employees must live within a reasonable commute of no more than 50 miles one way to the designated facility. Work may include visits to field sites and plants, with 15–25% travel.

What you will do
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems.
- Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities to achieve business goals.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Conduct engineering and related studies.
- Coordinate work activities and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records while supporting company goals and professional standards.
Requirements
- Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Either 4+ years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology; 6+ years with an associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or 8+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Reliable, consistent transportation and the ability to commute to the designated facility as required.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology.
- Valid driver's license.
- Distribution design experience with Maximo and BOUD.
- Experience in the distribution utility or broader utility industry.
- Experience applying project management principles.
