Protection and Control (P&C) Designer (Electrical Design)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States; willingness to travel as needed is required.

Expected hiring range: $67,700–$98,600 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.

What you will do

• Create detailed physical and electrical designs for utility and industrial projects.
• Develop CAD drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
• Support technical leads throughout project execution and deliver work on time and within budget.
• Build expertise in SEL technologies, relay protection systems, and industry practices.
• Mentor and assist drafters with technical tasks.
• Improve design processes and contribute to engineering innovation.

Requirements

• Associate degree in EET, CAD, drafting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of high-voltage electrical design experience.
• Experience with protective relay control system projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Understanding of protective relay installation requirements.
• Strong communication, documentation, independent-work, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• BSEE, BSET, or a related engineering degree.
• Testing and commissioning experience with protective relays, SCADA, or process control systems.
• Utility, consulting, or system integration experience.
• Knowledge of power system protection and automation applications.
