Project Engineer I - Protection (Power Systems)

Location: Khobar, Saudi Arabia; willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%

What you will do

• Apply fundamental concepts and procedures related to power system protection, protective relays, relay settings, testing, and SEL products.
• Train and assist customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection systems.
• Complete assigned project work within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Participate in preparing functional design specifications.
• Prepare and maintain design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and other deliverables.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, system protection, protective relays, settings, and testing practices.
• Knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration or automation, and communications applications.
• Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
• Strong writing, documentation, speaking, teamwork, learning, and responsibility-taking skills.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.

Nice to have

• Engineer in Training certificate.
• Experience in an electrical utility, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator environment.
• Project engineering experience.
• Experience with Vision or other project management tracking software.
