Pay range: $23.04–$28.80

What you will do
- Interpret spoken communication between English and the target language for patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- Act as a culture broker to identify and resolve misunderstandings caused by cultural differences.
- Translate correspondence, brochures, forms, documents, and diagnostic procedure materials.
- Support family meetings, consent processes, appointment notifications, patient transfers, and care conferences.
- Accompany patients to operating rooms or other departments when interpretation support is needed.
- Respond to possible on-call requests for nighttime and weekend emergencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Interpreter Certification from an accredited college or university, or completion of a medical interpreter training course and a third-party medical interpreter competency exam.
- At least one year of relevant interpreting experience.
- Bilingual ability with reading, writing, and communication skills in both languages.
- Knowledge of interpreting techniques, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, and treatments in both languages.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA/HITECH and applicable regulatory requirements.
Nice to have
- National Certification for Medical Interpreters.
- Three years of relevant interpreting experience.
