TL;DR
CT Tech I, II, III (Power Plant): Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical, instrumentation, control, and mechanical equipment at a combined-cycle and combustion-turbine facility with an accent on plant safety, equipment reliability, and multi-craft maintenance. Focus on servicing motors, transformers, switchgear, PLC-based controls, pumps, valves, compressors, HRSGs, and gas turbines while performing Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures and responding to planned or emergency site events.
Location: Goldsboro, NC, United States; onsite at a company facility. The role includes potential shift, weekend, holiday, and emergency-response work, with approximately 5–15% travel for training and support at other Carolinas combustion-turbine sites.

What you will do
- Perform electrical maintenance on motors, breakers, transformers, relays, switchgear, contactors, and other powerhouse equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, electrical systems, Ovation, MKVI, and PLC-based control systems.
- Calibrate instruments and devices, inspect equipment, identify problems, and document work orders.
- Support mechanical maintenance, inspections, servicing, rigging, and lifting operations involving pumps, valves, compressors, HRSGs, steam turbines, and gas turbines.
- Execute Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures and follow station safety, environmental, emergency, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Operate station vehicles and use technical manuals, drawings, computer systems, tools, and testing equipment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and two years of related work experience, or a high school diploma/GED and two years of related work experience in lieu of the degree.
- Knowledge of generating-station operating fundamentals, equipment, and processes, with the ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Effective written and oral communication, teamwork, initiative, and the ability to work safely in a diverse, multi-craft environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, tolerate heat, cold, noise, dust, and humidity, and complete required medical and respirator fit tests.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to complete EEI POSS, MASS, physical abilities, and Employee Development and Qualification Program requirements.
- Must be able to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice to have
- Three years of instrumentation, controls, and electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience with digital control systems, PLCs, multi-fueled technologies, Ovation, or MKVI.
- Mechanical maintenance experience and knowledge of pumps, valves, boilers, cranes, rigging, and lifting requirements.
- Experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control logic, and using Maximo or equivalent work-management systems.
