TL;DR
Signal and Power Integrity (SIPI) Engineer (High-Speed Hardware): Performing SI/PI simulation and analysis for next-generation protective relay products with an accent on high-speed digital design, electromagnetic behavior, PCB layout, and power delivery networks. Focus on developing IBIS, SPICE, and S-parameter models, troubleshooting crosstalk and impedance issues, correlating simulations with lab measurements, and optimizing hardware reliability.

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States

Salary range: $97,700–$144,400 annually for the Hardware Engineer level. Other potential levels list ranges of $115,290–$170,349 and $136,100–$201,100.

Company

hirify.global develops next-generation protective relay products and is a 100% employee-owned engineering company.

What you will do

  • Perform pre-layout and post-layout signal integrity and power integrity simulations for high-speed digital designs.
  • Develop and validate IBIS, SPICE, and S-parameter models for signal integrity analysis.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout designers to optimize stackups, routing, and power delivery networks.
  • Analyze crosstalk, reflections, impedance discontinuities, EMI, voltage droop, and decoupling performance.
  • Correlate simulation results with measurement data to support hardware validation.
  • Create SI/PI design guidelines and work with hardware, layout, and product engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in signal integrity and power integrity analysis and simulation.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory, transmission line theory, high-speed digital design, analog and digital circuits, and hardware design principles.
  • Experience with SI/PI tools such as Ansys HFSS, SIwave, Cadence Sigrity, Keysight ADS, or similar.
  • Experience with SPICE simulation tools such as Ansys Nexxim, Synopsys HSPICE, Cadence Spectre, LTSPICE, or similar.
  • Work is based in Boise, Idaho.

Nice to have

  • IBIS model development, S-parameter measurements, and VNA operation.
  • Experience with DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, or other high-speed interface standards.
  • Python scripting for automation and data analysis.
  • Hardware development lifecycle, validation, verification, and simulation-to-measurement correlation experience.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI or thermal simulation and analysis.

Culture & Benefits

  • Employee ownership through an employer-funded ESOP and personal 401(k) options.
  • Medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Ten paid holidays, vacation accrual starting at 12 days, nine paid sick days, and paid family and medical leave covering 90% of pay.
  • STEM courses, apprenticeships, tuition assistance, and engineering development programs.
  • Additional wellness, fertility, adoption, and flexible spending benefits.
