What you will do
- Manage or support land survey projects from start-up through completion, including research, field and office coordination, jurisdictional processing, deliverables, and construction support.
- Coordinate project activities with clients, governmental agencies, design teams, field crews, analysts, drafters, consultants, and internal departments.
- Support schedules, budgets, contract administration, billing, account management, proposals, scopes, and project documentation.
- Apply land surveying principles and CAD tools to topographic surveys, surfaces and contours, boundary and right-of-way analysis, plats, maps, utilities, easements, and coordinate geometry calculations.
- Maintain quality and cost control according to scopes of work, CAD standards, checklists, and corporate procedures.
- Lead, mentor, train, and coordinate survey staff according to the position level.
Requirements
- Knowledge of land survey techniques, tools, quality standards, and production of precise technical plans, drawings, maps, and models.
- Working knowledge of CAD applications and the ability to follow quality-control procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Assistant level: LSIT in the state of practice, a BSLS or related Geomatics/Surveying Engineering Technology degree or equivalent, and 5 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of equivalent experience.
- Associate level: RLS/PLS, a related degree, and 7 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
- Principal level: RLS/PLS, a related degree, and 8 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of equivalent experience; a good driving record and ability to drive for business purposes are also required.
