TL;DR
Machinist II (Metalworking and Machine Shop Operations): Fabricating, fitting, assembling, maintaining, and repairing metal parts, tools, and equipment for engineering research and laboratory work with an accent on close-tolerance machining, engineering drawings, and support for faculty and student experiments. Focus on manufacturing gears, threads, shafts, adaptors, jigs, and fixtures, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with research projects.
Location: College Station, Texas, United States. On-site staff position. Employment requires completion of the U.S. Form I-9 and proof of authorization to work in the United States.

What you will do
- Fabricate, maintain, and repair metal parts, tools, and equipment.
- Manufacture steel, aluminum, and other parts from drawings, prints, or verbal instructions to required tolerances.
- Produce gears, threads, shafts, adaptors, jigs, and fixtures to very close tolerances.
- Fit and assemble manufactured parts and order parts for machine shop use.
- Assist faculty and students with experiments and research projects.
- Support laboratories and maintain lab equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of related experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and sketches.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations, multitask, and work cooperatively with others.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Authorization to work in the United States must be verified through Form I-9 after hiring.
