Focus on developing conceptual and definitive installed-cost estimates, analyzing project risks, identifying cost-reduction options, and presenting estimate bases to management.

What you will do
- Prepare commercial proposal estimates for medium and small EPC projects in collaboration with operations, engineering, supply chain, and fabrication.
- Analyze specifications, drawings, bills of material, historical data, and pricing schedules to calculate project costs.
- Develop conceptual, budget, and definitive total-installed-cost estimates using work breakdown structures and charts of accounts.
- Plan bid strategies and participate in precontract kickoff meetings with project managers and business-line management.
- Obtain supplier, equipment, and subcontractor quotes and coordinate reviews with legal, tax, insurance, finance, and other support functions.
- Perform risk analysis, lead risk-register workshops, recommend cost-reduction options, and present estimate bases and comparable metrics to management.
Requirements
- BS in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant estimating experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of construction processes and how work processes affect business costs.
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while collaborating across the business.
