What you will do
- Produce daily on-air newscasts from story selection through final timing and preparation for broadcast.
- Determine story order and write scripts, teases, headlines, breaking-news updates, and other editorial content.
- Review scripts for accuracy and clarity and balance hard news with feature stories.
- Produce and manage digital newscasts for streaming platforms, the website, and app.
- Adapt broadcast material into shorter vertical videos and other social media content.
- Coordinate live coverage of breaking news and special events, monitor analytics, and respond to audience feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of experience in a news operation, subject to market-size variation.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience with digital content management systems and streaming platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication, computer, multitasking, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
