Press Operator 1-1st Shift

Location: Angola, Indiana, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Pay: $21.80 per hour, with possible overtime, call-in, stand-by, and shift differential pay

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single- or multi-color offset presses.
• Complete make-ready work, including hanging plates, installing cylinders, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension and register.
• Inspect plates and cylinders for imperfections and verify image positioning.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet production quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain presses, including minor repairs and replacement of worn or broken parts.
• Perform manufacturer-recommended periodic maintenance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine the materials required for press setup.
• Knowledge of press capabilities, packing pressure, and corrective adjustments.
• Skill using a micrometer to mount and align printing plates.
• Ability to adjust feeders and feed boards, including suction, blast, front and side guides, and head-stop timing.
• Ability to perform routine operational maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
