Senior Trial Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; regular attendance at court events, depositions, and other appointments is required, with travel as needed for business purposes.

Annual base salary: $132,800–$219,100, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage higher-exposure cases and complex litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, and other court proceedings, and provide case analysis and handling recommendations.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants to develop strategies and prepare testimony.
• Manage client relationships, provide legal training, mentor attorneys and support staff, and support office business needs.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Proven jury trial experience, with strong oral advocacy, legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings.
• Ability to travel to proceedings and appointments; a valid driver's license may be required depending on location.
