What you will do
- Support mechanical design deliverables, including drawings and specifications, for mission-critical and industrial facilities.
- Perform basic load calculations, system sizing, pipe pressure-drop calculations, and duct pressure-drop calculations under senior supervision.
- Assist with equipment selections, system layouts, drawing production, and other mechanical design tasks.
- Coordinate mechanical design with civil, structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and controls disciplines.
- Participate in construction administration, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and field observations.
- Apply ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards while developing technical skills through mentorship and continuing education.
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 0–3 years of Mechanical Engineering experience; mission-critical, data center, or industrial project experience is advantageous.
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Exposure to load calculation software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, problem-solving, and learning skills.
Nice to have
- Internship or co-op experience in mission-critical, data center, or industrial projects.
- Exposure to CFD modeling software such as Ansys Fluent, Cadence Reality, or similar tools.
