TL;DR
Quality Engineer B Crew (Automotive Quality): Supporting production quality assurance and continuous improvement in an automotive manufacturing plant with an accent on PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and customer quality standards. Focus on conducting capability studies, preparing 8-D corrective actions, analyzing root causes, and resolving quality issues with customers and plant teams.
Location: Warren, MI, United States; onsite B crew schedule, Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 pm–4:30 am.

What you will do
- Support daily quality assurance activities and analyze production data to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare and maintain PPAP packages, control plans, inspection plans, containment plans, and related supplier documentation.
- Support PFMEA and Operation Description Sheet updates with manufacturing engineering.
- Conduct capability studies, audits, quality alerts, and customer return material root-cause analyses.
- Prepare and submit 8-D corrective-action reports and communicate between customers and the plant.
- Serve as a customer contact for quality issue resolution and visit customers as needed.
Requirements
- At least one year of quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of PPAP requirements and approval processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
- Working knowledge of SPC and core automotive quality standards, including ISO/TS-16949.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work the B crew schedule Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 pm–4:30 am.
