Staff Engineer, Firmware Test (NVMe)

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose, California office in the United States

Base pay range: $163,000–$253,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop black-box functional test coverage and test methodologies for NVMe SSDs.
• Debug and triage test failures in collaboration with the firmware team.
• Reproduce firmware problems and design and run experiments to isolate issues.
• Analyze customer field issues and improve functional test coverage where gaps are identified.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong programming and scripting experience with Python, Bash, and Linux shell scripts.
• Prior knowledge or experience with NVMe, PCIe, NVM Express, PCI Express, NAND Flash, or FTL.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage and server systems, with proficiency in Linux.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Daily onsite work at the San Jose, California office is required.
