Associate Database Administrator (Oracle & SQL)

What you will do

• Provide operational database administration across Oracle and SQL Server environments.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot database performance, availability, and reliability.
• Support database maintenance, upgrades, backups, and recovery activities.
• Contribute to operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Senior DBAs, infrastructure teams, and application teams supporting critical production environments.
• Participate in an on-call roster approximately every two weeks and undertake occasional paid overtime when required.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of database administration experience, with strong Oracle Database Administration skills.
• Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server administration and large-scale, highly available production environments.
• Knowledge of database operations, maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL scripting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery principles.
• Ability to participate in a rostered on-call support rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle Exadata, or SQL Server Always On.
• Exposure to financial services, payments, or PCI-DSS-regulated environments.
• Experience in Agile or product-led technology teams.
• Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft certifications.
