What you will do
- Lead mechanical design for mission-critical facilities, data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and other high-availability environments.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
- Coordinate project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, design changes, and deliverables across multiple disciplines.
- Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals, reports, and other design documentation.
- Delegate work, mentor and train engineers, and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
- Support business development and construction administration, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, field observations, client interviews, and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on data center projects.
- Strong experience with mechanical systems and working knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency with mechanical design and production software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace, or Carrier HAP.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards, including ICC, ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable local and regional regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license and ability to obtain licenses in multiple states.
- Experience with CFD modeling software such as Ansys Fluent or Cadence Reality.
- Experience in design-build or integrated project delivery environments.
- Experience with mission-critical design as an unlicensed engineer.
