APS-4: Light Track Mechanic II (M2/M3A3 and MLRS maintenance): Performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, component repairs, and vehicle servicing for light tracked vehicles with an accent on engines, transmissions, turrets, armament systems, fire suppression systems, and pneumatic components. Focus on troubleshooting system malfunctions, completing -10 and -20 level maintenance, conducting road tests and emergency repairs, and maintaining vehicle readiness in a field environment.

What you will do

  • Perform Care of Stock in Storage, preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on M2/M3A3, MLRS, and other light tracked vehicles.
  • Conduct -10 and -20 level Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services, including inbound and outbound vehicle repairs.
  • Diagnose component and system malfunctions, identify required repairs and parts, and complete lubrication orders.
  • Remove, replace, and repair engines, transmissions, turrets, armament systems, fire suppression systems, pneumatic systems, wiring, sensors, and related components.
  • Perform road tests, ground guide operations, emergency repairs, battery and track replacement, vehicle cleaning, and fluid and fuel maintenance.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, work areas, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. passport are required.
  • Documentation qualifying for US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa under USFK 700-19 is required.
  • A valid state motor vehicle operator license.
  • High school diploma or GED plus five years of directly related experience maintaining and repairing M2/M3A3, MLRS, or other light tracked vehicles.
  • Ability to use maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, parts manuals, work instructions, and work orders.
  • Ability to provide a basic General Mechanics Tool Set, work in confined and non-temperature-controlled environments, lift required loads, and pass initial and periodic medical screening and a favorable NACI background check.
