What you will do
- Perform and check design and analysis deliverables for plate structures, tanks, vessels, modules, foundations, and site facilities.
- Conduct finite element analysis of plate steel and concrete structures for static, thermal, and dynamic load combinations.
- Prepare analysis reports communicating methods and results to internal design groups and external clients.
- Provide direction on analysis methods, design loads, project requirements, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with plate structures engineers, designers, project engineers, and managers.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to improvements in tools and workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree or higher in civil, structural, mechanical, or related engineering from an accredited school.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in finite element analysis of plate steel and concrete structures.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including proven technical writing ability.
- Ability to produce and approve calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Ability to work onsite in Plainfield, Illinois, USA.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in at least one state or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience with storage vessels and/or pressure vessels.
