Engineering Manager - Agentic AI (Agentic AI/LLMs): Building a secure, scalable platform for autonomous agents to execute multi-step medical reasoning with an accent on multi-agent orchestration, state management, tool usage, memory, and FDA-grade safety. Focus on designing greenfield agentic systems, implementing evaluation and reasoning validation loops, and transitioning from hands-on architecture into scaling and leading the engineering team.
Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid work
Base salary: $200,000–$270,000 per year, plus cash bonus and equity.

What you will do
- Design, architect, and implement a secure, scalable Agentic AI platform from scratch.
- Establish patterns for multi-agent orchestration, state management, tool usage, and memory.
- Lead the initial hands-on architecture and engineering effort, then transition into a dedicated engineering management role.
- Drive agent-driven product features from ideation through production deployment.
- Build systems for requirements parsing, software-module mapping, and automated test-case generation.
- Partner with product managers, clinical experts, and data scientists to translate clinical needs into AI architectures and product roadmaps.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production-grade software.
- 5+ years managing, mentoring, or serving as a formal technical lead for engineering teams.
- Ability to remain deeply hands-on with code and architecture during the first 6–12 months while building the team.
- Hands-on experience with LLM applications, agentic architectures, orchestration frameworks, and vector databases.
- Advanced proficiency in Python or Go, plus experience with microservices, API design, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience designing greenfield systems and solving complex, open-ended problems.
Nice to have
- Experience deploying AI applications in regulated industries or working with HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
- Contributions to open-source LLM or Agentic AI frameworks.
- Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or RAG optimization.
