TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Mission-Critical Facilities): Designing and implementing electrical systems for data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and other high-reliability facilities with an accent on medium- and low-voltage distribution, redundancy, grounding, UPS, and standby generation. Focus on performing short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies, preparing construction documents, and coordinating electrical systems across multidisciplinary design-build projects.

What you will do

  • Develop electrical designs for mission-critical facilities under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer.
  • Design medium- and low-voltage power distribution, grounding, UPS, standby generator, and redundancy systems, including N+1, 2N, and distributed/block-redundant configurations.
  • Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, structural, and EPMS teams.
  • Support construction administration through RFI responses, submittal reviews, field observations, client meetings, and technical presentations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 3–7 years of Electrical Engineering experience; experience with mission-critical, data center, or high-tech manufacturing projects is preferred.
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred or actively pursued.
  • Working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power system design, redundancy planning, and energy-efficiency strategies.
  • Proficiency with SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower; knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AmpCalc or CYMCAP for cable ampacity analysis.
  • Experience in a design-build or integrated project delivery environment.
  • PE license or active pursuit of PE licensure.
