What you will do
- Provide global plant support for laser welding, including robots, fixtures, TruTops, Precitec systems, and technical specifications.
- Standardize welding processes and specifications and support feasibility analyses for laser, GMAW, and resistance welding.
- Evaluate AI applications and software solutions for welding and monitor developments in welding and AI technologies.
- Perform payback, cost-saving, and cost-estimation analyses for welding applications and equipment concepts.
- Conduct physical tryouts of critical design elements and fixture concepts and support equipment specification with detailed technical instructions.
- Standardize welding PFMEA, guide rework concepts, and support the integration of weld parameters, inspection data, C&E results, and MES data into an AI-supported software system.
Requirements
- Degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.
- Automotive industry and production-environment experience.
- Minimum 10 years of welding experience, mainly in laser welding for Seat Structures and Mechanism operations.
- Experience with TruTops, Precitec, fixture adjustment, robot programming, cut-and-etch analysis, and CMM or gauge validation.
- Knowledge of welding process, online monitoring, and cut-and-etch data validation using logical analysis and decision trees.
- Advanced English knowledge and willingness to travel to suppliers, plants, and technical centers are required.
Nice to have
- 3D CAD design, GDT, and tolerance-stacking experience.
- Experience with layout creation, time analysis, and welding-process cost calculation.
