Autonomous Vehicle Operator, Los Angeles (Overnight Shift, 12-Month Duration)

Location: Onsite in Los Angeles, California, United States. Overnight shift: 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. PT, Friday through Tuesday.

Base pay: $27.25 per hour, paid biweekly, plus weekend differential. Benefits include a medical, dental, and vision package, daily meal reimbursement, paid time off, limited company holidays, and possible discretionary biannual contract-completion bonus.

Develops Level 4 autonomous driving technology and a universal autonomy platform for robotaxis, logistics fleets, personal vehicles, and other mobility use cases.

What you will do

• Operate autonomous test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes for up to 8 hours per day in varied traffic conditions.
• Use proprietary software to collect real-world data and provide accurate feedback to engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and collaborate with the Mission Operations team to meet mileage targets.
• Complete pre- and post-mission vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance, including washing vehicles and inflating tires.
• Monitor safety and navigation systems while maintaining constant situational awareness and following operational protocols.
• Interact with the public and represent the company during selected ridealongs for executives, investors, stakeholders, and engineers.

Requirements

• Must reliably work five days per week on the specified overnight schedule.
• Current valid California driver’s license and at least three years of holding a US driver’s license.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use laptops, tablets, smartphones, and online collaboration platforms for documentation and real-time workflows.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, operate vehicle controls, respond to abrupt braking or swerving, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
