Cybersecurity Analyst (Microsoft Purview)

Location: Alexandria, Virginia, United States. Work location may change based on client requirements.

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Purview information protection and DLP policies, including sensitivity labels, data classification, and endpoint DLP.
• Monitor and analyze security alerts across Microsoft 365, Azure, and connected services.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify data protection gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to operationalize data protection policies.
• Tune DLP rules, investigate data security incidents, and document remediation activities.
• Manage sensitive-data retention, governance, secure disposal, and security awareness training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing and supporting Microsoft 365 security features, especially Microsoft Purview Information Protection and DLP.
• Understanding of data classification frameworks, regulatory requirements, and information governance.
• Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, and identity-driven security models.
• Ability to interpret security alerts and logs, analyze incidents, and document findings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
