TL;DR
Software Engineer (.NET) (.NET/C#): Building and modernizing high-quality applications for clients' financial security and wellbeing with an accent on full-lifecycle delivery, legacy-system modernization, and application security. Focus on designing REST and SOAP integrations, optimizing production performance, automating testing, and coordinating onshore and offshore teams.
Location: Toronto, Ontario; hybrid work from home or the office. The role includes occasional travel between locations, rotating on-call support, and periodic weekend or after-hours work.
Salary: CAD 65,000–105,000 per year.

What you will do
- Design and deliver end-to-end applications in collaboration with designers, business analysts, and testing specialists.
- Contribute to requirements definition, design reviews, SDLC planning, and technical decision-making in an Agile environment.
- Modernize legacy applications by adopting current technologies and reducing technical debt.
- Coordinate development, testing, and implementation activities across onshore and offshore teams.
- Embed information security standards while maintaining application performance and production stability.
- Analyze and resolve incidents, optimize performance, and provide rotating production on-call support.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional IT experience with Agile practices and the full application development lifecycle.
- Advanced proficiency in C#, .NET, ASP.NET, REST API, SOAP-based web services, Crystal Reports, and PowerShell.
- Strong SQL, SQL Server, and relational database experience.
- Experience with TFS, Git, Artifactory, NuGet, CI/DevOps practices, and unit test automation.
- Experience building user interfaces with Razor and Blazor, plus modern development tools including GenAI and Copilot.
- Reliability Status Clearance is required, including a law enforcement inquiry, credit check, and disclosure of activities outside Canada lasting six consecutive months during the last five years.

- Financial services or insurance industry experience.
