Damage Prevention Technician I - Fort Collins, CO

Location: Denver, Colorado area, with field work; ideal candidates reside in Fort Collins or Loveland

Salary: $16.25–$25.00 USD per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Learn and perform routine underground facility location techniques under close supervision.
• Analyze blueprints and identify, map, and measure the location and depth of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil, and electric lines.
• Troubleshoot network equipment, replace defective equipment, and coordinate resources to restore network service.
• Document site information, utility data, and client interactions in organizational software.
• Use electrical, magnetic, GPS, surveying, blueprint analysis, and radar techniques to pinpoint utility coordinates.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, materials, network sites, and outdoor facilities while coordinating with clients, engineers, vendors, contractors, and management.

Requirements

• Up to one year of relevant field construction experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computers, cell phones, test equipment, Windows, and Microsoft Office; a cell phone is required.
• Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule 24/7/365, including standby, callouts, dispatch, overtime, and occasional travel.
• Valid state-issued driver license and eligibility to operate a company vehicle, with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varied environments and weather conditions.

• Basic understanding of underground installations.
