Mechatronics Manufacturing Assistance Instructor II (Mechatronics/Advanced Manufacturing): Delivering hands-on and theoretical training in mechatronics systems for modern manufacturing automation with an accent on PLCs, industrial automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and learner-centered instruction. Focus on developing relevant curricula, assessing learner performance, coordinating training logistics, and supporting RAMI/TRAIN and COAST project deliveries.
Location: Brownsville, Texas; training support also covers Corpus Christi and other locations within Texas. The role involves travel to training sites and allows telecommuting per TEEX guidelines.
Salary: $6,250 per month

What you will do
- Deliver hands-on and theoretical training in mechatronics systems used in manufacturing automation.
- Teach the integration of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and industrial automation systems.
- Develop and adapt course materials for different learning styles and support curriculum development.
- Monitor learner performance, evaluate instructional effectiveness, and promote student success.
- Coordinate training schedules, registrations, logistics, records, assessments, and quality-control activities.
- Collaborate with program personnel, clients, jurisdictions, and project stakeholders supporting RAMI/TRAIN and COAST.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of hands-on mechatronics systems experience, with specified equivalencies for an associate degree or high school diploma/GED.
- At least one year of experience in adult education or training in mechatronics operating principles.
- Knowledge of Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC programming, instructional methods, and presentation technologies.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- Ability to deliver training for up to 8–10 hours per day, move equipment up to 50 pounds, use personal protective equipment, and travel independently.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge.
- Proficient Spanish communication skills.
- Experience with robotics, sensors, actuators, control systems, CAD/CAM, industrial software, IoT, smart manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 data analytics.
- Siemens Mechatronics System or FANUC Robotics certification.
