Field Technician II (Denver)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; field-based work in the Denver metro area

Salary: $19.52–$33.00 USD per hour, with shift differential pay available for evening and overnight hours.

What you will do

• Install, commission, test, decommission, troubleshoot, and maintain optical transmission systems and telecommunications equipment.
• Work with SONET, TDM, DWDM, IP, and Ethernet-based equipment from manufacturers including Ciena, Nokia, Infinera, Juniper, and Cisco.
• Perform OTDR, Ethernet, BER, SONET, circuit, and fiber acceptance testing, including the use of optical and electrical testing equipment.
• Inspect and maintain network infrastructure, DC power systems, outdoor cabinets, buried cable, construction sites, and other facilities.
• Conduct site surveys, fiber panel audits, power audits, documentation, reports, and customer or contractor communications.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, occasional long shifts, and overnight travel; support outside plant networks and assist less experienced technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of telecommunications field experience installing, testing, or turning up telecommunications equipment.
• Technical, mechanical, and electrical knowledge, including critical infrastructure, ISP/OSP environments, and low- and high-voltage systems.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather, terrain, vegetation, and wildlife conditions.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, acceptable motor vehicle record, legal identification, and ability to pass required background checks.
• Ability to interpret OSHA and company safety rules, MSDS, MOPs, CLR/DLRs, procedures, and vendor documentation.

Nice to have

• OTDR, DC power, circuit testing, RFC2544, RFC6349 Truespeed, iPerf, or Y.1564 experience.
• Real ID, security clearance, and basic telecommunications or industry safety training.
