TL;DR
DevOps Engineer, AVP - Data, Cloud, and Developer Experience (AWS/Azure/Terraform): Designing and operating cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD platforms, and developer tooling with an accent on reliability, scalability, security, and developer productivity. Focus on building cloud-native platform capabilities, managing Kubernetes and networking services, improving observability and automation, and supporting incident response.
Location: Miami, United States
Annual base salary: $160,000–$200,000

What you will do
- Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
- Build and maintain Terraform and Terraform Cloud infrastructure-as-code, including reusable modules and state management.
- Develop and operate CI/CD platforms and deployment automation, preferably with GitLab CI/CD.
- Support VMs, containers, Kubernetes, managed container services, serverless platforms, and cloud networking.
- Build developer tooling, self-service capabilities, Dev Containers, Remote IDE solutions, and standardized development environments.
- Improve reliability, observability, security, and operational efficiency; participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, SRE, or similar engineering roles.
- Strong programming skills in Python or C# and experience operating production AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with Terraform, Terraform Cloud, reusable modules, state management, and IaC lifecycle operations.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms, containers, Kubernetes, managed container services, and serverless architectures.
- Experience with Dev Containers, Remote IDEs, standardized development environments, and self-service developer platforms.
- Strong understanding of DNS, TLS/SSL certificates, load balancing, CDNs, routing, private connectivity, observability, monitoring, incident response, and distributed-system troubleshooting; proficiency with Jira or a similar tool.
Nice to have
- Experience with Internal Developer Platforms such as Cortex, Backstage, or OpsLevel.
- Experience automating developer workflows from local development through deployment and runtime operations.
- Familiarity with SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and post-incident reviews.
- Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or TypeScript.
