News Anchor / Reporter

What you will do

• Anchor newscasts and present clear, engaging news content across television, internet, mobile, and other platforms.
• Report on major local stories as a lead field reporter approximately three days per week, alongside weekend anchoring responsibilities.
• Shoot, write, edit, and produce polished news segments and newscasts.
• Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and research while building a reliable network of sources.
• Respond to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations.
• Write website content, engage viewers through social media, and coach and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• At least three years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
• Strong reporting skills, vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate newsroom computer systems and work cooperatively with station personnel.
• Understanding of the importance of social media and digital engagement.
