IT Control Assessment Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Onsite in Camp Springs, Maryland, five days per week. Work location may change based on client requirements. US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain US Suitability clearance.

Salary: $77,000–$125,000 per year in base pay, plus potential bonuses, overtime pay, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and oversee IT control assessments, including IT general controls, business process application controls, internal IT audits, and OMB A-123 evaluations.
• Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, risk assessments, and client meetings covering business processes, system controls, and technology risks.
• Develop practical recommendations, remediation strategies, POA&Ms, and sustainable improvements for control deficiencies.
• Support ERP implementations, financial system modernization, cloud migrations, and digital transformation initiatives through governance, risk, and control guidance.
• Prepare executive-ready presentations, assessment reports, and client deliverables.
• Mentor senior staff, perform quality reviews, and support proposals, client presentations, and solution design.

Requirements

• At least six years of experience in IT audit, internal controls assessment, IT compliance and security assessments, audit management, remediation, or governance and policy support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• At least two years of federal government experience.
• At least two years of external assessment workpaper writing under CIGIE or GAGAS fieldwork requirements.
• In-depth understanding of IT general and application controls, with strong professional communication and business writing skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Camp Springs five days per week and obtain US Suitability clearance; US Citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• CPA or CISSP certification.
• CISA or CGFM certification.
• Experience with DHS, FISCAM, FISMA audits or remediation, A-123 support, IT risk assessments, OMB Circular A-123, or SSAE 18/SOC I audits.
