Senior Manager, Mechanical Construction

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; onsite at a Walmart Supercenter

Salary: $80,000–$155,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Oversee mechanical construction projects for remodels, new stores, and asset replacements.
• Manage project budgets, scopes, contingencies, contractor payments, change orders, and invoices.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce construction laws, regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams on construction initiatives, design changes, and execution best practices.
• Coordinate stakeholders, material procurement, delivery schedules, and conflict resolution.
• Represent Walmart with municipalities and public officials while developing business plans and improving project execution.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in construction and project management, with a strong focus on mechanical construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field and 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant experience without the degree.
• Experience managing and tracking preconstruction and ongoing project budgets.
• Leadership experience guiding cross-functional teams and mentoring associates.
• Expertise in construction laws, regulations, contractor relationships, scheduling, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to drive business plans, remove obstacles, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain high standards of integrity and operational excellence.
