What you will do

• Provide underwriting guidance, counsel, and authorization for commercial and residential title insurance commitments and policies.
• Evaluate title risk and underwrite transactions within delegated authority and company guidelines.
• Analyze and resolve complex title issues with practical solutions that support business objectives and manage risk.
• Advise internal personnel and customers on title, escrow, and real estate settlement matters.
• Interpret and communicate underwriting requirements, standards, guidelines, and regulatory obligations.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, legal, and agency teams to support successful real estate transactions.

Requirements

• At least five years of land title insurance underwriting experience, including significant experience with Pennsylvania transactions.
• Extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania real estate law, title insurance principles, title examination, settlement practices, and recording requirements.
• Thorough understanding of PLTA/ALTA policies, endorsements, underwriting guidelines, and title insurance regulations.
• Knowledge of lien priority, easements, probate, trusts, entity documentation, and other real property matters.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, negotiation, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with title production systems and Microsoft Office; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice to have

• Commercial underwriting experience, particularly with complex commercial transactions.
• Bachelor’s degree.
