TL;DR
Senior Entertainment Carpenter (Scenic Construction): Fabricating and installing structural, interior, and thematic projects for entertainment productions, events, and theme park development with an accent on custom woodworking, material selection, and precise interpretation of site plans and 3D models. Focus on coordinating multiple projects, installing and striking shows, working safely at heights, and adapting builds to engineering and permitting requirements.
Location: Busch Gardens Williamsburg, United States; onsite work in indoor and outdoor environments.

What you will do
- Fabricate and install structural, interior, theatrical scenic, property, event, and thematic projects.
- Build and support signs, event kiosks, Howl-O-Scream mazes, Christmas Town theming, entertainment workspaces, and park development projects.
- Create material, tool, and equipment lists and assist with sourcing, cost estimates, and fabrication timelines.
- Assist with the installation, operation, strike, maintenance, and storage of shows, events, fabricated projects, and equipment.
- Provide solution-based feedback and manage project cost considerations from conception through completion.
- Continue developing fabrication and equipment-operation skills through training, project assistance, and independent study.
Requirements
- High school and trade or vocational school education, or equivalent experience; at least 3 years of carpentry, fabrication, and custom woodworking experience.
- Ability to interpret site plans, elevations, details, and 3D models and execute projects according to engineering and local permitting guidelines.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrication materials, basic service coordination for electrical, plumbing, and data systems, and safe rigging practices.
- Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work safely at heights from 6 to 90 feet, lift, push, and pull more than 80 pounds, and use required PPE.
- Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, extended shifts, overtime, and show or event installation, operation, and strike work.
Nice to have
- Professional entertainment or theme park experience.
- Experience operating aerial lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, flatbed trucks, or CNC routers; CDL experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret theatrical lighting plots, scripts, concepts, and creative direction.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, computers, and fabrication control systems.
