MedTech Field Service Technician Device Upgrade or Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; 100% travel across local, regional, and national locations is required. Candidates must live within 1 hour of a major airport and have a personal vehicle for assignments up to 3 hours from home.

Salary: $27.00–$32.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, update, configure, and service medical devices, including infusion pumps and batteries, in hospital environments.
• Organize and test devices and configure related hardware, software, and network products.
• Communicate with and support hospital staff throughout field assignments.
• Conduct routine checks, record product test data, and submit daily documentation.
• Lead technical initiatives and support customer needs through local, regional, and national travel.

Requirements

• Associate degree, equivalent military training, or equivalent biomedical or technical field service experience, with 3–5 years of field experience.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot project setup, technical issues, and closeouts across multiple software programs.
• Effective professional communication, organization, time management, and independent working skills.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and personal vehicle required.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to complete hospital vendor credentialing and meet required vaccination and immunization standards.

Nice to have

• Experience in biomedical, networking, military, or field-based technician roles.
• Technical experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneNote.

Culture & Benefits

• Assignment-based schedule with an expected 40-hour-per-week commitment and overtime as needed, although 40 or more hours are not guaranteed.
