VP Systems Engineering (Energy Storage)

Location: USA-TX-Houston. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Define and execute the long-term Systems Engineering strategy, operating model, standards, governance, and capability roadmap.
• Serve as the executive technical authority for commercial product platforms and approve architecture decisions, technical tradeoffs, and release readiness.
• Own system architecture, requirements decomposition, interface management, traceability, modularity, scalability, and technology standardization.
• Lead verification and validation, systems integration, certification, functional safety, compliance, laboratories, HIL testing, and engineering assurance.
• Drive field reliability, warranty learning, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and product lifecycle improvements.
• Build and lead a global Systems Engineering organization, including talent acquisition, succession planning, resource planning, KPIs, budgets, and leadership development.

Requirements

• 20+ years of progressive engineering experience in complex product development, including integrated hardware/software products.
• 10+ years leading global Systems Engineering or engineering organizations.
• Deep expertise in systems architecture, requirements management, MBSE, verification and validation, certification, reliability, and product release.
• Experience with functional safety, regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, PLM, configuration management, and technical governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related field required; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading technical tradeoffs, executive stakeholder engagement, and engineering organization development.

Nice to have

• Experience in energy storage, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace, or a similar complex industry.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering field.
