Project Manager III (Injury Biomechanics): Coordinating injury biomechanics research and test-and-evaluation projects for the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory with an accent on project planning, scientific documentation, budgets, schedules, and data management. Focus on overseeing research teams, tracking performance and risk, coordinating field data collections, and delivering technical reports and materials to stakeholders.

Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama, United States; field work and travel within and outside the continental United States may be required.

Salary: USD $98,000–$108,000 per year

What you will do

  • Coordinate injury biomechanics research, development, testing, and evaluation projects for the Injury Biomechanics and Protection Group.
  • Develop project work plans, research plans, schedules, budgets, protocols, and timelines.
  • Monitor project cost, schedule, performance, risk, data, and deliverables, and prepare progress reports for management.
  • Coordinate research teams, principal investigators, technical staff, collaborators, sponsors, customers, meetings, and field data collections.
  • Draft, format, and edit technical and scientific documents, presentations, reports, and tasker responses.
  • Oversee scientific and engineering data entry, digitization, metadata management, archival copies, and quality control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of project or program management experience.
  • Experience managing project aims, performance, budgets, schedules, and related risks.
  • Familiarity with injury biomechanics, medical research, and data management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued driver’s license for independent travel to restricted meetings and field-data collection locations.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate professionally, and work variable hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
