2nd Shift Controls Engineer (Automotive): Supporting and improving automated manufacturing equipment, PLC systems, robotic programs, and plant-floor data collection with an accent on equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and production reliability. Focus on diagnosing electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical faults, implementing error-proofing, and resolving root causes through continuous improvement and 8D problem solving.
Location: Georgetown, KY, United States; onsite, 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM

What you will do
- Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic, ControlLogix processors, data-handling functions, and connected I/O devices.
- Maintain, repair, and improve automated equipment, instrumentation, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, HMIs, scanners, and remote I/O.
- Maintain PLC documentation, machine-control drawings, and electronic archives of machine and robotic programs.
- Schedule machine-control and robotics backups and develop preventive maintenance programs.
- Implement plant-floor data collection and error-proofing solutions to improve uptime, reliability, production, and safety.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary plant team on engineering changes, equipment specifications, continuous improvement, and 8D root-cause problem solving.
Requirements
- Engineering or electrical degree preferred, or equivalent additional experience.
- 3–5 years of related controls engineering experience in manufacturing.
- Strong Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience with some PLC programming skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with electrical control voltage and wiring methods.
- Ability to diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic system faults.

- Automotive JIT experience.
