What you will do

• Plan and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory instruction for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop syllabi, select instructional materials, design assessments, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
• Use active learning, hands-on instruction, and innovative teaching technologies to support student engagement.
• Mentor undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students in their academic and research activities.
• Maintain an active research and scholarship agenda, publish or present original work, and pursue external funding.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service, recruitment, committees, and program development.

Requirements

• Earned PhD in Animal Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of disciplinary subject matter sufficient for graduate-level instruction and research.
• Ability to collaborate professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to work onsite at the Stephenville, Texas campus and comply with security-sensitive employment requirements, including a criminal history investigation.
• Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure and work safely with potential hazardous materials and laboratory environments.

Nice to have

• Teaching or research experience in meat science or related fields.
• Faculty experience in a department with a PhD program in Animal Science.
• Documented success securing extramural funding and mentoring MS and PhD students.

• Nine-month tenure-track appointment with a potential summer appointment dependent on institutional need and funding.
• Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, or as teaching and work requirements indicate.
