Application Support Engineer (Java/Middleware)

What you will do

• Provide high-level technical systems support, application administration, and systems administration for a multi-tiered Shareowner Services application suite.
• Support complex issues involving large-scale applications, systems, databases, and technical products in Windows/SQL and Java/Linux environments.
• Perform migrations from development and lower environments to production, including upgrades, installations, and configurations.
• Review or write SQL queries, perform limited programming, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze performance trends.
• Assess production change risks and ensure quality, security, compliance, and service-level requirements are met.
• Maintain documentation, coordinate resolutions with users, vendors, and internal service groups, and provide guidance to less experienced analysts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of application or production support experience.
• 5+ years of application administration or production support in Tomcat, WebLogic, and Oracle environments.
• Infrastructure build experience and multi-tiered application support experience.
• Effective change management experience and experience owning and driving technical initiatives.
• Experience supporting Windows/SQL environments and troubleshooting network, hardware, and software issues.
• Business process improvement experience; an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is desired.
