Location: Hybrid in Oakland, California; office attendance is required two or three days per week, with remaining days potentially remote.
Salary: $105,000–$169,000 annually, with a Bay Area midpoint of $137,000. The role is also eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do
- Lead the development and deployment of Distribution System State Estimation and predictive analytics capabilities for real-time and forecasted visibility into distribution grid conditions.
- Design and operationalize grid intelligence platforms integrating SCADA, AMI, DER, outage, weather, and asset health data.
- Develop complex quantitative models and analytical methodologies to identify emerging reliability risks and support asset management.
- Provide recommendations and communicate analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, asset management, technology teams, utilities, and industry groups.
- Advance data-driven planning, risk-informed investment decisions, reliability improvement, and grid modernization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, machine learning, computer science, physics, econometrics, economics, engineering, mathematics, applied sciences, statistics, business, or an equivalent field.
- At least 4 years of job-related experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a doctorate with 1 year of experience.
- Ability to complete complex quantitative modeling and analysis with limited support.
- Experience applying machine learning, statistical methods, engineering analytics, and grid modeling techniques.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model from the Oakland office two or three days per week.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in power system engineering.
- Six years of job-related experience.
