TL;DR
PE II - Automation (Power Systems): Designing, configuring, validating, installing, commissioning, and operating automation and protection systems for electric power applications with an accent on industrial controls, power system integration, communications, and customer enablement. Focus on leading complex assignments, mentoring professional staff, developing technical proposals, and delivering projects within scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

What you will do
- Apply electric power system and SEL product knowledge to complete complex automation assignments.
- Lead customer training and support for the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
- Lead work execution within agreed scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Assist with preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
- Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise when required.
- Apply SEL values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and automation practices.
- Knowledge of power system protection and control, integration, automation, communications, system design, studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, with the ability to learn new skills, assume responsibility, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results required.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
- Project management experience and familiarity with Vision or similar project management tracking software.
