Storage Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Oakland, California; 1–2 days per week at the Oakland Headquarters, with the assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory.

Salary: $49.04–$77.88 per hour, plus eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation programs.

What you will do

• Administer and support enterprise SAN, NAS, object, software-defined, cloud, and hybrid storage platforms.
• Provision, expand, reclaim, monitor, and optimize storage resources for applications, databases, virtual infrastructure, analytics, and business continuity.
• Operate Dell, IBM, Cisco, AWS, Azure, and Azure Local storage technologies, including block, file, object, and SAN fabric platforms.
• Implement snapshots, replication, cloning, encryption, retention, immutable storage, and recovery validation for disaster recovery and ransomware resilience.
• Develop Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules and Azure DevOps pipelines for provisioning, backup validation, lifecycle management, and environment promotion.
• Support cloud migration, storage lifecycle activities, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security controls, compliance, and cross-functional delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, systems administration, cloud operations, or related IT functions.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting cloud technologies, cloud services, infrastructure automation, or cloud-based operating environments.
• AWS Certified Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or an equivalent cloud platform certification.
• Ability to collaborate with application, database, compute, network, cybersecurity, cloud, governance, risk, compliance, audit, and vendor teams.

Nice to have

• Three years of experience with storage technologies and knowledge of storage monitoring, management, and AIOps tools.
• Experience with Terraform, EC2, Lambda, S3, OCI, CI/CD, containers, databases, operating systems, virtualization, and backup technologies.
• Understanding of AI development lifecycles, machine learning concepts, platforms, and operational workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and delivering work in sprints.
