TL;DR
Senior Manager QA Product Reliability (SiC): Directing product quality and reliability for discrete silicon, SiC, and power ICs with an accent on wide-bandgap semiconductor qualification, failure analysis, and quality systems. Focus on designing SiC reliability methodologies, coordinating statistical experiments, leading screening and burn-in procedures, and transferring test requirements into high-volume manufacturing.
Location: Onsite at offices in Newport, UK

What you will do
- Direct the Newport product quality and reliability function, including quality systems, guidelines, plans, and policies.
- Lead reliability testing, qualification, screening, and burn-in activities for SiC power semiconductor devices across R&D, NPI, and high-volume manufacturing.
- Handle complex customer and product qualification investigations, including data analysis, failure analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, manufacturing partners, and academic stakeholders on product reliability requirements.
- Design reliability experiments and statistical studies, including gate oxide lifetime and time-dependent dielectric breakdown testing.
- Manage and develop the Newport reliability team, represent the MOSFET division in industry organizations, and present results to senior management and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- PhD or master's-level degree in electronics engineering, physics, microelectronics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of quality and reliability experience in the semiconductor industry.
- 5+ years of experience with wide-bandgap power semiconductor technology, ideally SiC.
- Experience leading global reliability testing of SiC MOSFETs and diodes at wafer and package level.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, design of experiments, semiconductor physics, and power electronics.
- Knowledge of semiconductor TCAD tools such as Synopsys Sentaurus or Silvaco Victory, together with strong leadership and communication skills.

- Experience with GaN power semiconductor technology.
- Experience with SiC reliability and failure analysis.
